Travel to Denver, CO

Travel to Denver, CO
Saturday, July 23, 2016

I left this morning to Denver, CO in American Airlines from Tallahassee via Dallas-Fort Worth, TX. My first flight was from Tallahassee International Airport (TLH) to Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas. The flight left around 6:40 PM local time and after approximately 2 hours landed in DFW airport at 7:30 AM local time.

After a short break I left on my next American Airlines 620 flight from Dallas Fort Worth, Texas airport to Denver, CO airport. This flight was about the same time as the first one and arriving around 9:45 AM at the local time.

I gathered my luggage and left the airport and bought a 5-day pass for the 2-stage public transport than included the train from airport to my hotel in Englewood, CO.

I then traveled in University of Colorado Line A from Airport to Downtown, Denver, CO.

Then I took the Mall ride bus and took train E (actually I made a mistake and took the wrong D-train) to Dry Creek Station.

Travel to ABQ

Annual Meeting of the ACA 2014
Albuquerque Convention Center, ABQ
Sat-Wed, May 24-28, 2014

I travelled to ABQ to attend the American Crystallographic Association's 2014 Annual Meeting. I left town on Friday and went Albuquerque via Atlanta, GA.

I spent several days at Albuquerque attending the Conference and associated workshop on Saturday.

However, there sometime on Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday when I was able to go around the town to see local places like Old Town Square, Albuquerque Travel Center, and Petroglyph National Monument and International Balloon Museum (only outside).

Then by Wednesday night I arrived back home.

Trip to Konxville TN 01

Annual Meeting of the American Crystallographic Association
Knoxville, Tennessee
I wanted to travel to Knoxville, TN to attend the Annual Meeting of the American Crystallographic Association at Knoxville Convention Center. Since Knoxville is served via Delta (I always start my searches with Delta, since Tallahassee is well connected via Delta than any other carrier), I tried to look for flights that left late evening and arriving their in before 10 PM (CDT).

I found couple of them and decided to book one of them using Delta's own website. But when I tried to book reservation for my stay and flight, Expedia turned out to give me a better deal for the combination rather than separate reservations. So I went with Expedia.

My flight routing was TLH to ATL and then ATL to TYS. The return journey was simply the reverse of the forward journey. When I tried to combine hotel, car rental, and flight that combination was more expensive. So I decided to do car rental separately.
